About Paul Zinn

Paul Zinn is a California native who doesn't normally spend his time writing sad songs. More often his musical energies are trained on something a lot more fun. Take, for instance, his best-known work with his brother Steve as the song parody duo My Hairy Brother, which garnered notoriety and airplay with songs about the TV show Survivor and about their favorite team, the Oakland Raiders.

He also spearheads The Blow Kings, an eleven-piece, horn-driven musical maelstrom of silliness that performs in and around the San Francisco Bay Area.

From 1995-2000, Paul played keyboards, brass, and sang with Grinning Idiots, a Bay Area groove-pop band. Three of his songs appear on the band's first and only CD, It's Not the MOMA.

Paul is also an experienced arranger, with marching bands getting the most of his attention. He has arranged music for high school, college, and professional bands worldwide.

And he is grateful that none of his family, or his fiance Kerry, were caught in the path of Bin Laden's cruel attack.
